Millville First was organized because the Millville City Commission was spending taxpayers dollars on ill-advised and unnecessary projects, entering into one-sided contracts with developers that favored the developer over taxpayers and were ignoring and violating their own ordinances. The organization began with in depth, careful research into the workings of the various programs and initiatives and after analysis proposed solutions and changes. At first the information and requests were presented in private but, when there was no response or effort at reform by the Commissioners, the organization shifted to public disclosure and requests. The response from the City has been to grudgingly make changes where there was no choice and to stonewall, dig in and attempt to belittle their critics if they had an option.
