Questions For Commissioners 2/22/2012

What is the increase in ratables in theRADsince the implementation of the RAD, and how much tax money has that raised so far? Is ½ of it enough to pay the debt service on the bonds issued to fund theRAD?

Does Don Ayres have his own phones now? Has he reimbursed the City for the payments made on behalf of his new corporation? How much was the total reimbursement? Is the City receiving reports on the accomplishments, benefits or results from the $21,000 a month payments or the $300K development grant? If so, are those reports open to the public?

Apparently there is some misunderstanding about who is responsible for the interest on the CCIA’s $1mil given to the Levoy. Has the City obtained a promise in writing from the LTPS? If not, why not?

Is it true that the financial package provided to the Levoy by and thru the City contains operating expenses? If so how much and for what period of time?

When is the employment report for tax abated properties due? When prepared will it be officially received and filed at a Commission meeting?

Did the City sign on to the Christie plan to reduce payments for sick time?

Have you instructed the solicitor to draft the Ordinance to move the City Commission election to November?  Does your instruction include an effective date after the November 2013 May election?

Will you move Board of Ed elections to November?

What is the City’s total debt including the three utilities?

Will any of you agree to come on our Radio TV show Thursdays 1:30PM?

Questions for February 2012

Will you move Board of Ed elections to November?

What is the City’s total debt including the three utilities?

Will any of you agree to come on our Radio TV show Thursdays 1:30PM?

If it is demonstrated to you that the RAD has failed to conform to its original concept and cannot do so without incurring more debt, will you at least consider repealing it?

What is the status of Millville Gardens? If the current development proposal cannot be timely implemented what are your plans for replacing this ratable that was bringing in $75k a year?

Are you still adamant about not introducing the Bogota Taxpayers’ ordinance?

Why are you not requiring the Construction official to file the abandoned properties and nuisance properties reports as mandated by your ordinances?

What did you spend on legal fees in 2010 and 2011, including not only McCarthy but all others? (McMannimon Scotland, Greenberg, Traurig, et als,)

What did you spend on consultants in 2010 and 2011?

Third Ward Advisory Committee was the conduit for Weed and Seed $. Now that Weed and Seed is done does the third ward committee still get money from the City and if so how much and for what and who runs it?

What happened to the physical assets of Weed and Seed? For example, the $900 camera lens that according to the voucher was picked up by Kim Ayres?

In 2010 and 2011, how much money did you give to the following:

MDC, A-Home, Municipal Alliance, Center City Neighborhood Group, RRCA,

 SHOW~~~INFO
Beginning  Thursday January 12 and every Thursday thereafter @ 1:30PM on TV Channel 2 and Radio 1240 AM Bob Tesoroni and I (Judge Porecca)  will host a call in show “Bob and the Judge”. The main topic will be Millville Government. The Tel # 765-1240. We welcome your calls.

The show is necessary for a number of reasons. One is the format and rules of the City Commission meetings which are televised live on Channel 2 on the first and third Tuesday of each month @ 6:30 PM. Tune in and find out how your city fathers are spending your money.
At those meetings a citizen is only permitted to speak at the end of the meeting and is limited to 5 minutes. You may only speak once. The Commissioners are not required to respond to any question and frequently do not until  that portion of the meeting is closed.  Then the Commissioners may talk about and rebut what may have been raised in the open session with no limit on the length or the number of times they speak. Frequently what they say is misleading or flat out wrong and no opportunity is afforded to correct the error. One purpose of this show is  to address that problem.

Another purpose is to explain in some detail the misguided programs the City has spent, and continues to spend, our tax dollars on. Once informed we hope voters will make their feelings known to the Commissioners in an effort to  influence their actions.

So tune in, call in 765-1240.  Join the discussion. I am sure it will be lively. We pledge to keep it civil and factually accurate. We have extended an open invitation to all the Commissioners to come on and discuss their policies. More on that later.
